Sarasota Green Connection (SGC) grows the local green economy by identifying and promoting SGC Approved Businesses online, through media partnerships and at monthly Green World Cafés.
The SGC Approved Business process is a self-certifying peer-review approval process. SGC Approved Businesses provide people-friendly and planet-friendly products and services. The criteria for approval are inspired by Co-op America's guidelines for the Co-op America Green Business Network. Certification from others is encouraged, including; Co-op America, Green Seal, Florida Green Building Coalition, Sarasota Green Business Partnership, US Green Building Council. There may be other certifications available within your industry.
More than 200 SGC Approved Businesses can be found online at www.sarasotagreenconnection.com and were first identified in the 2005 Sarasota Green Pages™. Selected SCG Approved Businesses speak at the monthly Green World Café (now in its 6th year), participate in vendor events, and are recognized by the community for their commitment to a future that works for all.
